My Adventure as A Blood Donor with Australian Red Cross

I rounded up some photos I've gathered to record my adventure in blood donation with Australian Red Cross. The first few ones, the first bunch, is from my first visit.

The first donation took ages from me and took countless times of the pumping machine to beep crazy since my blood wasn't flowing. The staffs (or volunteers?) Were so so kind and attentive enough they gave a box of juice so I would relax a little. I was determined. Didn't want to end my sesh before I reached my donation target.

That was the mementos that reflect the first time I went to donate my blood. I was consistent ever since, I kept showing up, never missed my schedule, and it only got better from there. My donation got quicker and shorter cz I discovered that being super hydrated woul keep a better blood circulation, so I always made sure to eat well and drink so much.

I started knowing the regular volunteers since I visited often too. Everyone was a bunch of happy friendly smiley people.

Just like the first time, the view from that pantry will always be beautiful though.

House of Dior Exhibition at National Gallery of Victoria

As my birthday present (well, one of them. So, plural), my then partner and now husband took me to a Dior Exhibition in National Gallery of Victoria. Knowing that his girlfriend came from a fashion background with mum as a fashion designer and business owner, being he knew that being enslaved to my studies didn't get me much fashion exposure. So he reckoned, "why not take her to a fashion exhibition, and she loves Dior!".

And there we went.

It was a fashion house. NGV that day was a fashion house of beautiful beautiful gowns and dresses that I couldn't stop admiring over. Classic Dior was unbeatable, timeless.

Cruising Through The Yarra River

The first day of summer calls for a cruise through the Yarra river. The first of summer also marked the last day of uni for me. So what I did, is that I went straight to the dock after lounging on the campus' greens for hours. The view was incredible.

I miss this day. It's probably the sun. The water. The buildings. Or even the blueness of when the water line touches the sky.

Late Dinner at Hu's Pies and Dumplings in Glenferrie rd.

I was scrolling through my phone's gallery and came across this photo of the dinner we had in one asian restaurant in Glenferrie (we, as in, my now-husband and I).

We were a frequent customer, to this place and other chinese eateries. Chinese cuisines are my constant favourite. Dumplings, szechuan chicken, chinese fried rice, and many many more. You just want all of them and they always taste so good and flavourful.

I miss this place.

First Monthversarry Brunch

A new couple (married or casually dating) will usually do the most to celebrate their union. I've heard storis abou coupls in different cultures and countries celebrate this; matching tshirts, matching accessories, matching shoes, love locks, carved names on trees, etc.

We were only married for a month and we were quarantined in our apartment. So what we did, we brought the monthversarry home.

My husband ordered some steak and a blackforrest cake (we forgot to take a picture of that one, but it was delicious! Thanks AlmondTree) and when it arrived we were supposed to eat it for dinner. A monthversarry dinner.

But, a mix of humans and time is always an unforeseeable condition. Wife had an emotional moment just on the day our monthversarry arrived. Being quarantined for a month really did take a toll on everyone, me included.

So we decided to get some rest, for our souls and wellbeing and kept the dinner for the next day; which was brunch. It was lovely having a hearty meal with your spouse when you are in a light and happier headspace.

I heated up and re-plated the steak before we dug in. The steak was delicious and the cake was the same. We were so thankful. Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do to make life normal again when things aren't outside. My husband went to do what he could do best to do this and I was so moved by what he did.

Gratitude, my friends. Find love and gratitude wherever you are.

A Sunday Morning Stroll to Camberwell Market and Sofia's

My girls and I decided to go on a beautiful wintery sunday stroll around Hawthorn (waddup my suburb) as a post-exam celebration (well, one of them).

We visited the Camberwell market which is just a tram ride away from my apartment early in the morning and we continued with lunch at an Italian place called Sofia's which was just a stone-throw away from the market.

Sofia's is well known for its impressively generous and massive portion. I mean LOOK at them. Check out the gelato we ordered.

M a s s i v e. And delicious, indeed.
